Commercial animation is a rapidly growing and vibrant industry, encompassing a broad range of rewarding and fascinating creative job opportunities. Our strong emphasis on creative practice will help you to develop your skills in drawing and design, along with the imaginative development and innovation of ideas expressed sequentially. These skills, together with the professional practice aspects of the course, will ensure that you have the confidence and expertise to succeed in the industry, whether as a producer, technician, designer or manager. You¡¯ll also develop the transferable and cognitive skills necessary for lifelong personal and professional development. Throughout the course, there are opportunities for you to take part in national and international competitions and film festivals. Our course is delivered by a large team of experienced animation practitioners, staff and industry visitors, and you¡¯ll work in dedicated specialist animation studios with facilities for blue screen, rostrum animation, CGI, drawing, stop-frame, film, photography, set building, sound and video. Successful animators need to be flexible and able to adapt to changing cultures and new initiatives, and our course seeks to reflect this fluidity. You¡¯ll rapidly develop your own practice in animation, and will be encouraged to work on shared initiatives. Based at our Harrow Campus ¨C home to the Westminster School of Arts and the Westminster School of Media and Communications ¨C you¡¯ll work alongside students from film, photography, music, fashion and journalism, in a unique creative hothouse.

The B.A. in Visual Art Studies program offers three different areas of concentration: Art History and Art Theory, Arts Management & Curatorial Studies, and Studio Art options from painting, photography, and sculpture to conceptual and cross-media arts.

The studio art track is designed to prepare students for careers in the fine arts in areas such as drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, or printmaking. It may also serve as a foundation for graduate study in fine arts.

This program focuses on the main disciplines in fine arts, ie painting, sculpture, graphic printmaking, drawing and new media, as well as on the theories and concepts of art. Graduates qualify as professional artists. The program is aimed at the promotion of aesthetic awareness and the broadening of visual, critical and creative thinking. The program also incorporates art management, art communication and marketing, digital training and the use of a wide range of artists materials, media and techniques.

BA (Hons) Animation and Games Art will allow you to explore the pre-production pipeline and be able to apply animation to a wide range of media. You will study and develop traditional animation techniques, plus key digital skills in 2D and 3D, while learning the core principles of character-led animation.

Animation and Visual Effects at Lincoln offers an introduction to the innovative world of animation and visual effects through moving images, digital visualisation, and contemporary narrative. The course enables students to develop into creative animators and artists with the flexibility to practise their craft in a variety of media.

Fine Art focuses on the artist as a socially responsive, publicly-aware practitioner, operating within physical, intellectual, and digital networks and referencing local, national, and global artistic platforms. At Lincoln, the Fine Art programme offers the expertise and environment to nurture students' creative development and expression. It aims to enable students to extend their creative work and ideas into new areas, including publicly engaged art.

BA Fine Art at Central Saint Martins is organised into four pathways: 2D, 3D, 4D and XD. Each encourages you to develop your work in relation to different forms of practice rather than within the limitations of a single medium. The pathway structure itself also embodies an interdisciplinary approach. You will engage in cross-pathway projects, as well as cross-program events in the College and University.

The BA in Fine Art aims to equip you with creative, interpretive, critical and analytical skills.

Within a university the term Fine Art describes an area of study in which students make and learn about contemporary art (this means art being made and exhibited today). Fine Art students might create sculpture, painting, video, photography, performance, sound art, installation, drawing, or any other mediums to describe their aesthetic and intellectual ideas. The ideas expressed within the artwork are understood to be as important as the medium which the artist has chosen to use.

BA Fine Art: Computational Arts opens up a reflexive understanding of time and space as generated from avant-garde moving image practices to begin to innovate from a creative digital perspective. The course begins by testing and questioning the potential and impact of emerging technologies on visual culture and their societal implications.

This course will encourage you to develop your understanding of the subject as not necessarily limited to marks on paper and to appreciate ways it can be both traditional and up to date. It will look at how drawing is interpreted virtually, spatially and across disciplines.
