The Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting is designed to provide students with a solid foundation in accounting theory and practice necessary for entry-level accounting positions and career advancement. It encompasses a common body of concepts, conventions, principles and theories essential to the professional competency of the certified public accountant, controller, industrial accountant, institutional accountant and governmental accountant.

This degree is designed to equip you with a unique set of accounting and managerial skills to analyse and evaluate the company and industry trends. You¡¯ll learn how to receive, interpret and communicate financial and other information in a globalised profession. Gaining a deeper understanding of how finances affect company performance, you¡¯ll be better placed to help firms make effective business decisions. Upon completion of the degree, students will be eligible to apply for eight CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) exemptions and up to six ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants). Commercial animation is a rapidly growing and vibrant industry, encompassing a broad range of rewarding and fascinating creative job opportunities. Our strong emphasis on creative practice will help you to develop your skills in drawing and design, along with the imaginative development and innovation of ideas expressed sequentially. These skills, together with the professional practice aspects of the course, will ensure that you have the confidence and expertise to succeed in the industry, whether as a producer, technician, designer or manager. You¡¯ll also develop the transferable and cognitive skills necessary for lifelong personal and professional development. Throughout the course, there are opportunities for you to take part in national and international competitions and film festivals. Our course is delivered by a large team of experienced animation practitioners, staff and industry visitors, and you¡¯ll work in dedicated specialist animation studios with facilities for blue screen, rostrum animation, CGI, drawing, stop-frame, film, photography, set building, sound and video. Successful animators need to be flexible and able to adapt to changing cultures and new initiatives, and our course seeks to reflect this fluidity. You¡¯ll rapidly develop your own practice in animation, and will be encouraged to work on shared initiatives. Based at our Harrow Campus ¨C home to the Westminster School of Arts and the Westminster School of Media and Communications ¨C you¡¯ll work alongside students from film, photography, music, fashion and journalism, in a unique creative hothouse.

A BA in Arabic studies is offered through the Department of Middle Eastern and Ancient Mediterranean Studies (MEAMS). Arabic studies focuses on Arabic language and literature as a gateway to the culture and civilization of the Arabic-speaking world.

You¡¯ll develop your understanding of the English language in terms of the way it is structured, its linguistic diversity in Britain and around the world as a global language, the ways in which it varies between different texts, and, at a wider level, the ways in which it reflects and contributes to wider meanings in society. You¡¯ll also have the opportunity to consider the theoretical tools of both literary analysis and language research in detail. You may have the option to spend a full academic year abroad at a partner institution and/or an approved form of employment in a country where Arabic is the official language. You can also study an optional module from a range of topics across the University each year.
